Perhaps an element of scale, whereby a marginally overweight man usually doesn’t even notice, or if it is pointed out to him, just wears looser clothing and grows a stubble. Of course the stubble option to look cooler and thinner isn’t really on for a woman, and the ‘marginally’ overweight issue is one of grave concern and anxiety.
